🔬 How It Works
Methomyl fly baits work by combining two components: methomyl (a carbamate insecticide that disrupts acetylcholinesterase) and Z-9 tricosene (a sex pheromone that specifically attracts house flies). The pheromone lures flies to consume the bait; the methomyl kills them within minutes of ingestion.
This combination is extremely effective in high-fly-pressure environments like livestock facilities, restaurants with outdoor areas, and waste management sites.
⚗️ Mixing & Application Rates
Do not dilute. Apply in fly bait stations only — NEVER scatter bait on the ground.
Fly bait station (indoor/outdoor)
1–2 oz per station
Place in dedicated fly bait stations away from food prep areas, water sources, and areas accessible to children and pets. NEVER scatter on the ground — methomyl is highly toxic to birds, especially starlings, and is regulated for scatter use. Replace bait every 3–5 days or when wet.
